The announcement of Steam Machines, along with Steam OS and the Steam Controller, has sparked curiosity in the eyes of many. Steam Machines, specifically, gathered a lot of attention in the gaming world as to whether these machines could keep up with their PC counterparts. As we've seen the machines prove themselves as viable options for non-PC gamers, many wanted to know whether that meant Valve was going into the hardware business by creating their own machines.
Gabe Newell removed doubt at CES on Monday. He stated that he sees Valve playing more of a supportive role in the race.

Quindi Valve non ha piani immediati per rendere le proprie scatole disponibili per i consumatori, ma Newell ha anche detto che continueranno a fare ciò che devono fare e prendere quelle decisioni lungo la strada.
"Continueremo a prendere questa decisione mentre procediamo", ha detto Newell. "Siamo stati soddisfatti dei risultati dello sviluppo hardware con i clienti, abbiamo piani per costruire più macchine, ma ci aspettiamo anche che gli utenti siano davvero contenti della gamma di offerte offerte da questi produttori di hardware".
Questa è una buona notizia nei miei occhi perché penso che Valve dovrebbe attenersi a ciò che sanno fare meglio. Sono grandi nell'offrire supporto per Steam su PC, che è il miglior servizio di distribuzione digitale per i giochi sul mercato. Steam OS ha il potenziale per essere un ottimo sistema operativo, ma solo se Valve rimane focalizzata, il che è fortunatamente quello che sembrano fare.
